The Power Systems Console is one of the engineering stations on a bridge. Manned by a member of the engineering department, it is used to monitor the starship's Fusion Reactor and other electrical power systems. The station is primarily used to monitor and control their operations, as well as systems vital to the operations such as Cryogenic Storage.
Location and Layout
On a Magellan Class vessel, the Power Systems Console is located in the aft-consoles. It is located on to the left of the Propulsion Systems Console, both of which are positioned on the starboard side of the entry doorway. Both consoles are closest to the Command Chairs and Tactical Stations.
The power systems console consists of one pane which displays an overview of the starship's fusion reactor and cryogenic tanks.
- Fusion Reactor: displays the power output and inflow/outflow of supplies into the Fusion Reactor. The console also controls the power output, allowing the bridge to either increase or decrease this.
- Cryogenic Storage: displays the contents of cryotanks holding the supplies of materials vital to the fusion reactor, notably Helium-3, Helium-4 and Deuterium. The console displays the status of the tank and the amount of time until they are depleted of their contents. The console can also control whether the valves of the ship are open, allowing them to be refuelled whilst orbiting a Gas Giant or other sources of the material.
