NOTICE: This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.

This tutorial covers the known basic elements of the Heads-Up Display (HUD) in Starship Simulator. The HUD overlays your first-person view to provide real-time information. For a full list of keybinds, see the Controls page.

HUD Elements

  • Crosshair/Reticle:
    • The central marker used for targeting objects for interaction.
    • Multiple crosshair variations can be selected in the Controls Settings menu.
  • Interaction Prompts:
    • Text prompts (e.g., "Press F To Sit") appear near the crosshair when looking at an interactive object.
    • These indicate the key to press (Default: F) and the action that will occur. See Tutorial:Interaction Basics for more on interaction.
  • Notifications & Information:
    • The HUD displays contextual messages.
    • Known examples include tutorial instructions and hints (Tutorials), mission timers, and game version/status information (like "Tech Demo 3" shown during development).

Customization

The Crosshair element of the HUD is customisable via the game's settings menu.
