This tutorial explains how to Issue Commands to crewmembers in Starship Simulator

Overview

From build 0.277.0.8 the method of issueing Commands was move to the Radial Menu. Prior to this a simple Pop up UI was used.

How to Issuing Commands

1. Accessing Radial Menus

  • Approach a station (chair) on the bridge. (Depending on the distance the player is from the Chair will determine what options are available.
  • Once point at the Station and Press the Radial Menu Key (Default: F)

2. Using Command Interfaces

  • Upon interaction, a context aware Radial Menu will appear for the station for commands that can be issued or options available to the players dpartment/role.
  • The mouse can be moved freely around the screen to activate the mouse cursor.
  • An option can be selected freely.
  • When an option is selected that are listed on the Games Task manager so the task for the order are dished out the players/NPC's is the correct order and posistions.
These order can Satck or overide other orders depending on the orders priority.

Issuing Commands (Overview)

While playing as a Command role, the player can typically perform functions such as:

General
  • Spawn/Dismiss NPCs
Helm
  • Command helm to travel to sensors target.
  • Ask NPCs to engage and disengage the FLT drive as well as ask for full speed or 10%.
  • Ask NPC's to take the ship home (Earth)
  • Ask NPC's to come to a Full Stop
Sensors Station
  • Ask Sensors Operator to select sensors range.
  • Ask Sensors Operator to increase or degrees range.
    • Align to Target (Must have System Targeted on Holo-Display)
    • Back to Stellar View
    • Initiate Survey:
    • Scan Target
    • Show Surface Map
