This tutorial explains how to use the Conference Room Video Player.

Tutorial: Using the Conference Room Video Player
The Conference Room, located on A Deck, features a large screen capable of playing videos directly from YouTube. This allows you and your crew to watch content together during your voyages.
Location
Find the large presentation screen and its associated control console within the Conference Room.
Requirements
- A valid URL (web address) for a standard YouTube video (e.g.,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ). - It's easiest if you copy the URL to your computer's clipboard before starting.
Steps
- Approach the Console: Walk up to the control console associated with the large video screen.
- Load URL: Using Crosshair, look for and click the button labelled Load URL on the console's interface.
- Paste URL: Paste your copied YouTube video URL (typically using Ctrl+V on your keyboard).
- Confirm: Press the Enter key on your keyboard to submit the URL.
- Autoplay: The system should automatically process the link and begin playing the YouTube video on the main Conference Room screen.
Additional Features & Tips
- Valid Links: Ensure you are using a direct link to a specific YouTube video. Playlists, channel links, or shortened URLs (like youtu.be) may not function correctly.
- Controls: While playback starts automatically, look for potential on-screen controls for pausing, stopping, Seeking or adjusting volume once the video is active. (Note: Specific controls beyond "Load URL" have not been explicitly detailed in development logs as of early 2025, so functionality may vary or evolve).
Troubleshooting
- Video Doesn't Play:
- Double-check the URL format is a direct YouTube video link (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...).- Only use full URL for Youtube Videos, see below
- Double-check the URL format is a direct YouTube video link (
| Links below all link to the same video | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal Youtube URL link | Live Youtube link | Playlist enabled youtube video | Time stamped Youtube Video |
| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DX69HhROCI | https://www.youtube.com/live/2DX69HhROCI | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DX69HhROCI&list=PLWT7pQD7yFblewl0qzXwX-2Kd6MD7IYip&index=1 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DX69HhROCI&t=120s |
| Works | Doesn't Work | Works But only will play video in link and not run though playlist | Works but time stamp doesn't so will play from start |
- Make sure the game has necessary permissions to access the internet (check firewall settings if issues persist).
- Try a different, known-working YouTube video URL to isolate the problem.
- Carefully repeat the steps, especially not holding E to click "Load URL", pasting, and then pressing Enter.
- This feature is still a work in progress and currently depends on a third-party Unreal Engine plug-in. As a result, some functionality may be limited or behave unexpectedly, and these issues may be outside of Fleetyard’s control. Replacing these plug-ins with custom in-game code is planned for future development to improve reliability and integration.
- Some videos on YouTube have embedded playback disabled by the user and, as such, won't play outside of YouTube apps.
