This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.

Civilians

A Civilian (also called a Passenger) is a person without any regular shipboard duties. They may be seeking passage, using the ship as a conference location, or simply enjoying the ride. Civilians currently wear black uniform, similar to the stewards department.

Overview

In the broader context, a civilian counts as personnel not affiliated with the ship's crew and organisation operating the vessel. As such, they have no obligation to complete any tasks aboard or assist in their operations. Many of their activities will likely be reduced to using the ship facilities available to them, whether it be the VIP Lounge or the Mall. Civilians have only limited access due to safety and security considerations.

Roles

Passenger

Civilians who are aboard either for a journey or have been picked up to travel to a location.

Ambassador

Delegates and negotiators who are visiting or travelling on board ship for diplomatic purposes.

Duties on Ship (Gameplay)

  • No duties to perform at all.
  • Relax and enjoy the ride.

Development

The department was originally referred to as the Passenger. During development, the department was renamed in-game as the Civilian department; however, some promotional material still uses the term passenger to refer to the department.

According to the Early Access Roadmap, it is expected that civilians will be capable of sabotage on board the ship in later builds of the game.[1]
