Comms Station

The Comms Station (short for Communications Station) is the secondary scientific station on the Bridge. Manned by a Comms Officer, it is used to perform communications duties between the ship and other communication sources, such as planets, space stations and the operator's headquarters. It is the ship's primary communications conduit to the outside world.

Location and Layout

The Comms Station is located on the port side of the Bridge alongside the Sensors Station, opposite the defence and tactical stations, and behind the Helm station. It is among those furthest away from the Command Chairs.

Development

Originally intended for implementation in patch cycle 0.230.0.0, development of the Comms Station began during Development Build 0.227.0.3. The station's current functionality includes receiving hails and missions from UN Headquarters, with the option to either accept or decline. In future, it is planned to transfer communications to other stations and rooms.
