A shuttle (short for shuttlecraft) is a space vehicle designed for short-range transportation. They are often used to transport cargo and personnel between starships or to planet surfaces. Shuttles are stored aboard starships in Shuttle Bays, which are often located in the aft regions of the ships.

Development

Testing for shuttles began during patch cycle 0.226, with initial versions seeing whether they could exist independent to a starship in the Galaxy.[1]
