NOTICE: This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.
The **Flying Camera** is a specialized, interactable prop that functions as a small, hovering drone. It allows players to detach their perspective from their character and explore the ship's interior or exterior from new angles, primarily for cinematic views and taking Screenshots (if planned/relevant).

Overview
Unlike most other passive props, the Flying Camera is a tool that grants the player direct control of a separate entity. When activated, the player's view switches to the drone, which can then be maneuvered freely to capture unique perspectives of the UNSF Magellan or the surrounding galaxy.
Functionality
- Control Transfer: When interacting with the Flying Camera, control transfers from the player character to the drone.
- Free Movement: The drone can fly through various areas of the ship, both inhabited decks and maintenance spaces, and can also exit the ship to capture exterior shots.
- Adjustable Speed: The drone's movement speed can be adjusted (e.g., using the mouse wheel) for precise control, with exponential speed scaling for faster traversal.
- Mouse Sensitivity: Mouse sensitivity for drone control can be customized in gameplay settings.
- Primary Use: Its main utility lies in acquiring unique Screenshots and recording cinematic footage within the game.
Locations
Flying Cameras might be found in a Temporary storage room just outside the Bridge.
Development Notes
The functionality of the drone camera has seen several refinements through development builds:
- Initial speed controls and a reset function were added (Development Build 0.225.0.23, 2024-06-17).
- Mouse sensitivity controls were implemented (Development Build 0.225.0.42, 2024-09-05).
- Various bugs related to its display, player character clothing, and multiplayer synchronization have been addressed (e.g., Development Build 0.224.0.29, 2024-01-10; Development Build 0.225.0.57, 2025-02-02).
