NOTICE: This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.
A Chess Board is an interactable prop in the VIP Lounge. Added as part of a "Sunday Funday" development stream, it allows players to create and run a game of chess. Unlike other props, the chess board cannot be moved and the pieces, if moved, will not have their location saved.

Overview
The chess set is located in the VIP Lounge and allows players to engage in games of chess within the virtual environment. It was created during a live development stream on the 1st of June 2025, where the developers showcased the process of integrating the asset into the game and making it fully functional, including multiplayer support.
Features
- Location: VIP Lounge
- Functionality: Players can pick up and move individual chess pieces.
- Multiplayer Support: The chessboard is fully functional in multiplayer, with piece movements replicated for all players.
- Reset Function: A reset button returns all pieces to their starting positions.
- Physics: Pieces are designed to be stable ("weebles") and not easily knocked over.
- Visuals: The board and pieces are detailed, using Nanite for high fidelity, and feature subtle shadows for improved clarity.
Development Process
The development of the chess set involved several key steps:
- Asset Integration: Selecting and importing chess piece models, enabling Nanite for detailed rendering, and adjusting materials.
- Saving and Loading: Implementing a system to save and restore the position of each piece, ensuring persistence across game sessions.
- Reset Functionality: Creating a mechanism to reset the board to the standard starting arrangement.
- Physics Implementation: Fine-tuning the physics of the pieces to make them stable and easy to manipulate.
- Multiplayer Replication: Ensuring that piece movements and the reset function are synchronized across all clients in a multiplayer game.
- Visual Adjustments: Refining the size and positioning of the board and pieces, and adding subtle visual effects like shadows.
Future Improvements
The developers have discussed potential future enhancements, including:
- Improved mouse controls for easier piece manipulation.
- Addressing minor visual issues.
