Probe

A probe is a device designed to collect samples from astronomical objects. They are utilised to retrieve samples for scientific study in places either too dangerous or little importance to starship crews. Probes are stored in Probe Storage facilities, often located in the upper aft regions of starships.

Development

Probe are intended to be implemented in patch 0.231.1.0, where . However, experimenting and testing for them began in dev build 0.227.0.5. In current builds, the probe gathers a sample prop for the NPC crew to handle.
