Shuttle

A shuttle (short for shuttlecraft) is a space vehicle designed for short-range space transportation. They are often used to transport cargo and personnel between starships and other locations, including space stations and planet surfaces. Shuttles are stored in Shuttle Bays, which are often located in the aft regions of the ships.
Development
Testing for shuttles began during patch cycle 0.226, with initial versions seeing whether they could exist independent to a starship in the Milky Way.[1] Development of a shuttle has been the current focus of dev streams from May 20, 2026, which primarily focuses on the modelling and function implementation of a personnel shuttle.[2]
