Black Hole
A black hole is a compact celestial body with a gravitational pull strong enough to prevent anything from escaping, including light. They are typically formed when supermassive stars reach the final stages of existence and collapse upon themselves. Black holes can be found around the Milky Way, with the supermassive Sagittarius A* serving as the very centre of the galaxy.
Development
Black Holes were added during development in 2022, though lacked a lot of data and appeared as large black spheres. The code was updated by October 2023, where volumetric black holes were added to generate a greater variety of and more realistic appearances. During dev build 0.225.0.32, black holes were given proper stellar mass and the galaxy generation update allowed planets to generate in their system. In dev build 0.225.0.102, a bug was fixed which presented black holes as a planet on the Holo-Display.
