G Deck

G Deck is the seventh deck from the top of the Magellan class starship and represents one of the lower engineering levels. It houses essential control and support systems, including the main Reactor Control Room, additional cryogenic storage, and the reactor start capacitors. G Deck is primarily accessed via the reactor room and maintenance tunnels from F Deck. In future updates, it will connect to the fin.

Layout

As a lower engineering deck, G Deck's layout is centred around supporting the main reactor located on the deck above and housing other large-scale power systems. The arrangement prioritizes functionality and secure housing for critical components like the Reactor Control Room and start capacitors.

Reactor Control Room

This crucial facility serves as the main control centre for monitoring and managing the ship's main reactor (located on F Deck). Engineers work from this heavily shielded room to oversee power generation, manage reactor performance, and respond to any anomalies.

Cryogenic Storage

G Deck features additional Cryogenic Storage facilities. This might be for bulk storage of specific materials, long-term reserves, or cooling systems directly supporting equipment on this deck or the reactor above.

Start Capacitors

Large banks of capacitors are housed on G Deck. These are likely designed to deliver the massive initial energy pulse required to initiate the fusion reaction within the main reactor upon start-up.

Corridors and Access

Functional corridors connect the Reactor Control Room, cryogenic storage, capacitor banks, and vertical transport (stairs/lift). Access is likely more restricted than on upper decks, focusing on engineering personnel routes.
