E Deck

From Starship Simulator

E Deck is the fifth deck from the top of the Magellan class starship. It primarily serves as the lower habitation level and houses the ship's main Shuttle Bay. Key areas include crew quarters, the lower level of the Mall, the Shuttle Bay, and outer corridors containing engineering systems like Reaction Control System components. E Deck can be accessed via the main stairwell and lift from D Deck above and F Deck below.

Layout

E Deck shares the more complex layout structure found on D Deck, featuring a large outer "C Ring" corridor and additional passageways. Notably, the outer ring corridors on this deck house engineering components, specifically parts of the Reaction Control System (RCS), which are primarily accessed for maintenance from F Deck below. The central area is likely dominated by the large Shuttle Bay.

Crew Quarters

This deck provides additional living quarters for the ship's crew, supplementing those found on D Deck.

The Mall (Lower Level)

E Deck contains the lower level of the Mall, the large multi-deck recreational and service hub shared with D Deck. This level may house specific facilities not located on the D Deck portion, such as the Bowling Alley, Cinema, Gym, or The Park.

Shuttle Bay

The main Shuttle Bay is a major facility located on E Deck. This large bay is used for storing, launching, recovering, and maintaining the ship's auxiliary shuttlecraft. Doors likely provide access to space for shuttle operations.

Security Office

The Security Office is located in the aft-port region of E Deck, between Ring 3 and the Shuttle Bay. It is used as the main deployment area for the tactical department, particularly the Chief of Security and Deputy officers.

Firing Range

A Firing Range is located in the aft-port region, close to the Security Office. It is used for tactical officers to practice with firearms or test weaponry equipment.

The Brig

The Brig is currently located in the aft region of E Deck, close to the Shuttle Bay and Security Office. It is used to hold either crewmembers breaking severe regulations and prisoners in transport. The Brig is also used in multiplayer sessions to confine disruptive players.

RCS Corridors / Engineering Access

The outermost corridors or dedicated spaces on E Deck contain components of the ship's Reaction Control System. While physically located along the E Deck structure, these systems are considered part of engineering and are typically accessed for maintenance via routes leading up from F Deck.

Corridors

In addition to the specialized outer corridors, E Deck features the large "C Ring" and other passageways connecting the crew quarters, mall access points, shuttle bay support areas, and vertical transport (stairs/lift).

Main Stairwell and Lift Access

The central stairwell and lift shaft pass through E Deck, providing vertical access connecting primarily to D Deck and F Deck.
