Medical
NOTICE: This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.

The medical department is responsible for the health and wellbeing of crew members aboard a ship or station. They provide a range of medical services in a variety of fields, including diagnosing and treatment of injuries, diseases and health conditions. Medical crewmembers will wear green clothing and will be based from the ship's sickbay.
Roles
Chief Medical Officer
The head of the medical department and chief surgeon. The Chief Medical Officer will create and manage tasks for the department, assign staff members to complete them, and complete medical treatment where required. The role is often assigned to a Lieutenant Commander.
Surgeon
Members of the department who are fully trained in surgery. Surgeons will perform medical treatment of injured crewmembers where required and coordinate the shift in place of the Chief Medical Officer. The role is often assigned to a Lieutenant or Ensign.
Nurse
Members of the department who specialise in patient care and treatment. Nurses are expected to look after patients in place of a surgeon and assist in surgeries. Tasks will be assigned to them by the Chief Medical Officer. Nurses will hold the rank of crewman (likely either as Ensigns or Enlisted personal).
Duties on Ship (Gameplay)
- Treat Injured Crewmembers.
- Manage Crew Mental Health.
- Combat Shipwide pathogens.
Development
In early stages of development, the department would have featured medics in place of nurses. These would have specialised in various fields of medical care, very similar to both the surgeon and nurse roles.
