Stewards
NOTICE: This page is a Work in Progress as much of the lore/Development for the game is yet to be established.
Stewards are responsible for managing the ship's living and dining areas, ensuring the cleanliness of the ship, and preparing and serving meals. Steward crewmembers will wear black clothing.
Roles
Chief Steward
The head of the Stewards department. The chief steward will be in charge of creating and assigning tasks for other stewards to prepare, such as clearing a mess or preparing a meal for ambassadors. In the UNSF, the role will be assigned to a Lieutenant Commander.
Bar Staff
A crew member assigned to perform drink preparation duties. Bar staff will be assigned to serve either for the main crew in the Sports Bar, or senior officers, passengers and visitors in the VIP Lounge. In the UNSF, the role is often assigned to Crewmembers (possibly Ensigns or Enlisted personnel).
Chef
A crew member assigned to perform food preparation duties. Chefs will be tasked with preparing meals in kitchen areas either for the main crew in the mess hall, or senior officers, passengers and visitors in the VIP Lounge. In the UNSF, the role is often assigned to Crewmembers (possibly Ensigns or Enlisted personnel).
Waiting Staff
A crew member assigned to food and drink serving duties. Waiting Staff will likely obtain food and drink orders from personnel, take them to the appropriate station, serve the completed order, and clear food serving areas. They are assigned to either the VIP Lounge, Crew Mess Hall and Sports Bar. In the UNSF, the role is often assigned to Crewmembers (possibly Ensigns or Enlisted personnel).
Maintenance Crew
A crew member assigned to cleaning duties. Maintenance Crew members will be tasked with clearing up messes or maintaining hygienic standards on the ship. In the UNSF, the role is often assigned to Crewmembers (possibly Ensigns or Enlisted personnel).
Duties on Ship (Gameplay)
- Make Food For the Crew (Chef Role)
- Serve drinks to the Crew (Bartender Role)
- Keeping the ship Clean and Tidy (Janitor Role)
Development
On the Starship Simulator website and Steam store page, the steward is referred to as the Morale Officer. It is also mentioned that the member would look after the crew's mental health. It is currently unclear whether this role will be implemented into the department.
Prior to 0.226 versions of the demo, Maintenance Crew were referred to as Janitors. The name was changed to reflect Royal Navy terminology.
