Command

The command department is responsible for the overall management and operation of the ship, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the vessel and its crew. On starships, it is primarily composed of the Captain/Commanding Officer (CO) and the Executive Officer (XO). Command staff currently wear white and yellow clothing.

Overview

Command staff are considered the highest level of the starship. Their duties revolve around completing missions for their organisation, and maintaining both the safety of their ship and their crew. Command staff are primarily based out of A Deck, primarily the Bridge, Captain's office and Executive Officer's office.

On the bridge, command staff take position at the Command Chairs, through which they can alter the ship's alert state. Command staff can lay in courses through the Holo-Display, which they can use to decide where the ship will travel and send objects for officers to perform duties on. The command staff have access to commands, with which they can tell officers what they wish for them to do. For example, the captain can command an officer stationed at the Sensors Station to perform a survey on targeted objects or increase the display range for the Holo-Display.

Roles

Admiral

The highest ranking officer aboard the starship. Admirals will likely outrank captains, though their role and presence on the ship is currently unknown.

Captain

The commanding officer aboard the starship. The captain will often make the decisions about the ship's course and operations.

Executive Officer

The first officer and second-in-command aboard the Magellan. The role is often assigned to a Commander.
